Welcome

Welcome to Moreton in Marsh Croquet Club

Our Croquet Club is located in the North Cotswolds area and we have been open play since May 2021.

We welcome croquet players, or potential players of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to experienced players. Not sure if you are interested? Just come along and give it a go, all you need are trainers or flat shoes and we can supply the equipment you need.

You can find out more about how to get involved as well as keep up-to-date with events at the Club by going to our Facebook page or see us at play on our YouTube Channel.

Why Play Croquet

Croquet relies on touch, accuracy and tactics rather than speed and strength, so it’s playable by anyone of any age on equal terms. There are several different forms of croquet but the two main ones played in the UK are Golf Croquet and Association Croquet.

The two games use the same equipment and many people enjoy playing both. Golf Croquet is a game of accurate ball placement and straight hitting, so has much in common with golf. Association Croquet allows bonus shots and is similar to snooker or pool. Both games reward strategic planning and include a handicap system. This allows a smart player the chance to outfox an opponent, no matter what their level of physical expertise.

Our main season runs from April to October, however we are open all year round depending on weather, availability of members and the condition of our lawns. Membership is open to people of any age. New recruits are always welcome and all members have the use of our equipment as well as access to coaching from our more experienced players.

Members can just turn up and play, or take part in our internal events, with the possibility of regional and national leagues and tournaments for those who wish to play competitively. These cater for all levels of player from beginner to expert.
