Our Spacehive funding has reached its target with an amazing £26,909 raised by 19th August to enable us to build our much needed clubhouse. However please read more below to see that we are continuing to raise funds as much as possible.

Chastleton Charity Walk Fundraising Event

Saturday 16th July 2022

Saturday dawned well for the club’s, historic, fund raising walk to and from Chastleton house. Quite a crowd gathered to see off the walkers on a lovely, sunny day and a larger crowd gathered at Chastleton to welcome them on the first leg of the journey, attracted, not least, by the exceedingly tasty cakes on offer in the church.

A good number of club members got the chance to play on the lawns at Chastleton house and Croquet was ‘brought home’ to Moreton with a game played between two of our members and our, very welcome, guests from the South West federaration.

Can You Help With Funding?

Clubhouse Atist Impression

Although our crowd funding target has been reached we need to continue raising funds to complete the works, including laying the base and connecting utility services.

So we have continued with more afternoon teas at Chastleton and car boot sales among other events throughout the summer.

Other Fundraising Projects

Moreton in Marsh croquet club is up and running with members signed up to play both for leisure and competition. However we are looking to raise funds towards facilities at the club site. The biggest expense to come is building a clubhouse as detailed above. We also have some high costs for improving the lawns to get them up to competition standard over the coming months and probably years.

Afternoon Tea served at Chastleton House

We have a planned budget in place for these costs and club members are already doing as much they can to raise money. This includes events such as Car Boot Sales, providing Afternoon Teas for visitors to Chastleton House, social events such as a Quiz Night and Fish & Chip Supper along with many others to come this year.

Fund Raising at Longborough Table Sale

At the same time we are looking to increase local support and sponsorship from businesses, groups or individuals who would like to contribute in any way they can.

We also need volunteers to join an enthusiastic group for various tasks, could you spare some of your time to help the club?

Please contact us if you can help in any way.
